Body Piercing - Information on Body Piercings Tight earrings don't allow air to circulate through the earlobe. Also, the pressure from tight earrings reduces blood flow to the earlobe and makes it more vulnerable to infection. If you do choose to wear studs don’t push the earring clasp tight on your piercing. Most Discomfort from wearing earrings is because the post is too short (the thickness of earlobes varies) or the clasp is closed too tightly. On cheaper belly rings, earring, etc, the posts may be plated with an inert substance and at first not bother you - then the Gold-plated or silver-plated can chip, tarnish or degrade in a piercing. Jules Jewels N things only buys Sterling Silver, Surgical steel and 10kt or 14kt clasps finest of all metals. Online Shopping with www.julesjewelsnthings.com |

Remember wounds to the ear cartilage are slow to heal. There are few blood vessels in that area so the healing process is slowed. Hoops highly recommended for cartilage. Backs of the earrings get embedded into your earlobes; you would be surprised how much stuff gets trapped between your earring back and your skin. Lotions, hair conditions, face makeup even hair spray makes it more vulnerable to infection, or frequently touching the ear lobes with dirty hands. Wash your hands with soap and water before any contact with your piercing. Typical healing times of different types of piercing: Earlobe: 4-6 weeks Ear Cartilage: 2 months - 1 year Nostril: 2-3 months Tongue: 4-6 weeks Lip or Eyebrow: 6-8 weeks Cheek: 2-3 months Nipple 2-6 months Navel: 6 months - 1 year Female Genitals: 4-8 weeks Male Genitals: 3-6 months If you have a piercing picture/video you would like to share, email us we will review it, and maybe post it here.

After the tattoo is finished a bandage will be applied. In about an hour you should remove the bandage and gently wash the tattoo with (un – fragranced soap) and water. Use a soft cloth and dry, then apply (un – fragranced lotion) to the tattoo 3or 4 times a day for 12 to 14 days. Never use an opened ointment or borrow someone else’s. DON’T PICK AT IT! Do not soak or tan with the new tattoo until it is fully healed. Also do not wear tight or restrictive clothes over the new tattoo either. If you will be out in the sun or tanning after the tattoo has healed please remember to put a good sun block on to protect your tattoos from the sun, as they will prematurely fade if you don’t.
